Sports Center

From the time Teddy was a baby, he made it perfectly clear he did not need much sleep. He made it abundantly clear that he had energy, and LOTS of it. He didn't sleep through the night until he was almost 18 months old. Climbed out of the crib at 15 months, and gave up napping well before he was two. The minute his eyes opened-he was wide awake. A trait he shares with his father. A trait that, as a non-morning person, I do not find amusing. Teddy would sneak downstairs in the early hours of the morning to watch tv. What two year old does this? Well, maybe a lot of them do, but how many of them sneak down to watch ESPN'S SPORTS CENTER??
He memorized facts, stats, players and anything else related to sports.
He was the kid happy to be out in the backyard with a ball-any type of ball. Keeping a running documentary to himself, including the cheering of the crowd!
One of his greatest injuries came while playing ball by himself. Toss and catch with a football, and falling onto the broken septic tank cover. An ambulance ride to the emergency room with his knee flayed open.
A broken jaw from baseball, and a broken ankle playing football his sophomore year.
And now he is a senior in high school. Playing football this season, and, of course, keeping track of his stats!!
Never a huge football fan my boys have certainly turned me into one! My sweet, blonde haired baby boy on the field. Wow...he's kinda scary!

He's a heartbreaker. I bet you have girls calling at all hours. I'm scared of the football years... I'm a pansy and the thought of my precious baybees doing something that violent makes me cringe. But it sounds like he's always known what he wants, and you really can't stand in the way of that!

He is very handsome! It's sad when you realize they aren't babies any more. He looks like an awesome football player!

I just had to wipe a tear. That is the sweetest post. My oldest was/is the same way - not sportscenter, but NFL network. He always does his own commentary and has the crowd cheering.
